Adolf Hitler's Life
Adolf Hitler was born on April 20, 1889 in Braunau am Inn, Austria. He had 5 other siblings, but sadly only one of them lived past their childhood. His siblings, Gustav, Otto, and Ida all died under the age of 2. However, his sister Paul, was able to live past childhood and died in 1960. As for his parents, his father was an Austrian customs official so he was able to gave his wife and children a home and great way of living. However, Alois Hitler had a very bad temper and had a bad attitude. He was obnoxious and arrogant, and usually took his problems out on his children. But, Adolf didn't take that from him and would argue with him often. As a result, they didn't have a very good relationship. His wife, on the other hand, was the complete opposite from him, but she had virtually no power in the household, as did no women during this time period. As for his education, Adolf Hitler was educated until the age of 16. In this time period, education was was onky required to age 16 and only if you wanted to receive a higher degree, you could continue school. However, Hitler chose not to proceed and ended his school days when he was 16. This was odd for many that knew Hitler because as a young child, he was praised for his hard work and good grades. Once he was a little older, he joined the army and fought in World War I. People say that when he came back from the war, he was a a different person. He started to believe in anti-semitism and would act very rude towards others. After a few years, he started to strongly agree with anti-semetic ways and would make racist remarks. Soon after the war, he became the chancellor of Germany and in 1934 he became the Fuher, or leader, of the Nazi Party. Throughout the Holocaust, Hitler and the Nazis killed Jews, homosexuals, and gypsies. When the troops came into Germany to help free the prisoners, many Nazis including Hitler knew they would be executed or imprisoned for life. Since they felt this way, they commited suicide to escape the punishments. Adolf Hitler killed himself on April 30, 1945. The method he used to kill himself is still not determined, but theories say he either shot himself for poisoned himself.
